Undergraduate Admissions
To be considered for admission to an undergraduate program at Georgia College & State University, applicants must document the following:
- For new first-year students, the successful completion of the foreign equivalent of a U.S. college-preparatory high school program.
- For international applicants who graduated from a high school located inside the United States, or located inside the jurisdiction of the United States educational system: The completion of the College Preparatory Curriculum requirements. - Transfer applicants with 30 or more earned semester credit hours must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (out of a 4.0 grading scale).
- Georgia College & State University's International Education Center reviews submitted educational documents and equates previously completed coursework to U.S. grade equivalencies. - Applicants with no university transfer credit must submit SAT or ACT score results unless an SAT/ACT waiver is granted. . This requirement is also applicable to transfer students who have completed less than 30 credit hours of undergraduate coursework.
- English language proficiency through one of the following ways:*
- Official TOEFL score report with a minimum score of 69 on the Internet-based test
- Official IELTS score report with a minimum score of 6.0
- Official SAT score report with a minimum Reading + Writing score of 480
- Official ACT score report with a minimum English score of 17
- Official PTE Academic score report with a minimum score of 53
- Sufficient financial support as specified on the applicant's Declaration of Finances.
- Eligibility to continue enrollment at a current or previous academic institution (i.e. not on academic exclusion, suspension or dismissal).
* Please note that some undergraduate programs have further admission requirements. Please check admission requirements under the specific program in the GCSU catalog. Note also that students who are waived from the SAT or ACT must still show proof of English language proficiency in order to be considered for admission.
Graduate Admissions
To be considered for admission to a graduate program, applicants must document the following:*
- Successful completion of the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.
- Minimum grade point average and test scores required for the graduate program.
Program requirements vary. Please refer to the specific program requirements in the graduate catalog.
- Georgia College's International Education Center reviews submitted educational documents and equates previously completed coursework to U.S. grade equivalencies.
- Eligibility to continue enrollment at a current or previous academic institution (i.e. not on academic exclusion, suspension or dismissal).
- English language proficiency through one of the following ways:
- Official TOEFL score report with a minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based test
- Official IELTS score report with a minimum score of 6.5
- Official PTE Academic score report with a minimum score of 58
- Sufficient financial support as specified on the Declaration of Finances.
